Resumen (ES)
135 cases of complex fracture of the distal radius
treated with external fixation are presented. Functional
results were good or excellent in 95 of the 135 cases (70,3 %).
Radiological results were good in 78 of the 135 patients (57,8
%). In view of the high percentage of both clinical and radiological
failures observed in our casuistry, we think that the
method must be used cautiously, using a careful technique
that avoids the complications related to its utilization.
