The reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament by bone-tendon-bone through a transpatellar tendon approach facilitates notchplasty, allows visualization of the insertion points of the ligament, and the performance of other associated surgery like meniscectomy and meniscal sutures. The clinical results are similar to other techniques using arthrotomy or arthroscopy.
