Sixty-four valgus infratuberositary osteotomies using tubular AO device were performed
between January 1988 and December 1993 in 61 patients with osteoarthritis and genu varus.
The average age was 48 years. The achieved correction was mantained until consolidation. This
occurred in an average time of 7 weeks. The selection of patients, the preoperative planning, together
with the surgical technique, are discussed. The postoperative treatment, results and complications
of the method are analyzed.
