Resumen (ES)
A series of 15 patients with different configurations of hip and knee arthroplasty
were analyzed with a metal arch detector similar to those used in airports. Metal detection
was negative in patients having only one implant. In 75% of patients wearing at least two
implants, metal detection was positive. We recommend that patients with two or more implants
in the extremities should be informed of possible positive metal detection.
