Resumen (ES)
Tuberculous coxitis is not an usual disease among
the diagnosis of a painful hip. It generally affects to elderly
and middle aged people, but in case of immunodeficiency
can be present at any age. Rehabilitation and orthopaedic
care must be carried during the healing process; nevertheless,
the hip usually results with residual damages. To restore
the function of a destroyed hip with a total prostheses is a
very hard process and must be followed with prophylaxis
against relapse. It is possible to settle this diagnosis while
treating patients whose diagnosis were different, and the hip
replacement must follow another strategy.
