Resumen (ES)
Bilateral quadriceps tendon rupture is an infrequent injury caused by an eccentric contraction of the
quadriceps when the knee is in semiflexed position under load. Different chronic pathologies and some drugs associated
with this injury have been described. Case report: We present the clinical case of a 63-year-old man with acute pain,
functional impotence for active extension of both knees and the presence of a bilateral suprapatellar gap, which was
confirmed by ultrasound. Results: The patient underwent surgical treatment by transosseous suture. Conclusion: Early
surgical treatment of bilateral quadriceps tendon rupture allows an optimal recovery with good functional results.
