Resumen (ES)
The surgical treatment of supracondylar femoral fractures in both poor-quality bone and high-energy fractures presents
challenging task for the traumatologist. We present our experience with the use of carbon fiber reinforced plates and nails,
along with other osteosyntheses, in the treatment of 9 patients with distal femur fractures. A group of patients, all women,
with low-energy fractures, and another group of 3 male patients with a history of high-energy fractures (two nonunions). All
patients consolidated, except for one infected nonunion whose osteosynthesis had to be changed. The. use of this method
for the treatment of peri-implant femoral fractures and complex fractures we believe provides a successful and technically
similar solution to other osteosyntheses
