Resumen (ES)
High-energy tibial plateau fractures are associated with extensive soft tissue involvement and extensive joint destruction.
Adequate management in the Emergency Room is essential to limit local damage and prepare definitive treatment. An
emergency management protocol for patients with tibial plateau fractures is presented. It describes actions upon first
contact with the patient, including imaging to help classify the injury, and decision-making regarding initial surgical fixation
to maintain adequate bone stability and optimal soft tissue management
