Resumen (ES)

Leyomioma is a rare benign tumor derived from smooth muscle. It is rarely found in musculoskeletal regions
and, to date, none located in the distal third of the leg has been described. Material and methods: We present the clinical
case of a tumor lateral to the Achilles tenon whose diagnosis after performing ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance (MR)
was not possible. It was decided to perform the excision of the tumor. The diagnosis after the antomopathological study
was leyomioma. Discussion and conclusion: The differential diagnosis of a mass in the lower limb is very wide, and
leiomyoma is always a diagnosis to consider. Taking into account its clinical-radiological non-specificity, it is common for
its diagnosis to be delayed. Fortunately, it is a benign lesion, whose definitive diagnosis and treatment involves the
exeresis. It rarely recurs and its malignant degeneration is exceptional.
