Fracture of the ceramic femoral head in total hip
replacement is a complication that has been reported in the
short-term follow-up of ceramic-on-ceramic bearing surfaces.
We report an unusual case of femoral head fracture in a
ceramic-on-polyethylene total hip prosthesis with a follow-up
of 11 years.
