Resumen (ES)
The classes in most medical schools, most of the effort is devoted to filling the mind rather than preparing and developing it; however, filling the mind does not work. Reduce our use of the passive lecture format; help students become active, independent learners and problem solvers. Collaborative learning activities, interactive models, educational games and establishing a culture of inquiry/scholarship are critical for achieving these goals. Web-based courses seem dominate the attention of educators and students. They are purposed to facilitate individualised instruction, but this is currently more vision than reality. Like blackboards and slides, Web-learning is a powerful tool -but only a tool- that if used wisely can greatly facilitate learning.
