852 fractures of the shaft of tibia are reported, among them 609 were analysed. 182 were treateld by anatomical reducíion and early weight-bearing with gaiter four weeks after.427 were treated by immovilisation in upper-knee casto Thet early walking with gaiter gave the best results, early fusion and most comfortable for the patients.
