Resumen (ES)
Based on the Biomecbanics of the hip at rest, 3 angular parameters have been chosen since birth, being easy to measure by R-X. Upon these parameters three indexes have been made which indicate respectively the sliding, centering and instability of the upper end of the lemuron the acetabulum. These indexes, which have been studied in 350 hips of newly boro babies. were divided into three series: the first one of 100 normal hips, upon which the curve of normal probability has been traced. observing that 13 has a statistical significance at a level of 0.95 %. calculating the midium and the standard deviation. The second one was of 47 seriously displasical hips.with a clear Ortolani's signo The third series had 199 doubtful hips. The development of these three series has been controlled up to the period of the baby's spontaneous walking and its correlation with the clinic has been confirmed. Consequently we propose this index of instability to be very useful in order to establish the pmgnosis and indication of treatment in the congenital hip displasia of newly born babies.
