The surgical treatment in the reurnathoid arthritis of the hip is the total hip replacement; however, its problems eiffer from those of the total hip replacement in other diseases (ostenarthritis idiopatic necrosis of the head of the femur, acetabulum fractures). Age and afectation of someother joints of the lower limb, osteoporosis and fhe late risk of protusion of the hip prothesis have their special problems.The authors report their experience on the indicatiüns and technique, operative details as well as the new trends in this surgery.
