Enfermedad de Engelmann. Presentación de un nuevo caso y revisión de la literatura

The authors present a rare condition of progressive dysplasia: Engelmann''s Disease.It is a general bone dysplasia affecting bones of membranous ossification. The etiology is not know, like the etiology of other dysplasias.The disease is characterized by thickening of the cortices of the shafts with a narrowed medullar cavity and a general increase of its diameter, having the bones a fusiform aspect.This affection only has a roentgenografic diagnosis and we where not able to find in the literature review such typical signns.We have reviewed every case published in the world until today, 88 cases.This is the third case published in Spain (14, 33).
