Resumen (ES)
Seventeen cases of chronic low back and leg pain, treated by means of Luschka''s articular nerve rhizolysis and/ or percutaneaus rhizotamy are presented. The comman clinical appearance was pain and the inability ta work. Radiographic, myelographic and electromyographic explorations as well as a psychalogical profile were always carried out attempting to discard anyother etialogy. A previous conservative treatment was always tried. These patients were divided in two groups to whether they had ar not suffered a previous lumbar spine aperation. A total of 11 rhizolysis, 4 rhizatomies and 2 cases where both methods vvere associated, were carried out. This was perfarmed with thermacontrolled radiofrequency. In no case was a long-term disappearance of the painful picture obtained. These results were disappointing. After attempting to explain the mechanism of action of both techniques, our results are being campared with those reported by other authors.
