The concept of the «Total-contact» prostesis achieving a hydraulic effect, has given excellent results in the treatment of acute fractures of the femur, delayed non-union, and non-union, offering «weight-bearing»  a major osteogenic stimulation in the focus of the fracture, developing consolidation methods more rapid than by usual orthopaedic means and with less complications than with surgical treatment. The average time for rehabilitation and return to normal use has been reduced to the benefit of the patient. The functional brace PTB, QTB, Münster and Arm cast offer us great therapeutic possibilities when the technical and systematic indication is pre-established.
