34 fractures ot the sháft of femur in children, treated by conservative methods, are collected in order to asses the factor of overgrowth of this bone after fracture.The conclusions are: The most important factor is the displacement of the fragments after fracture and secondarily the conminution.It is advisable in all fractures with great displacements to consolidate with 1 cm. of chortening. IRANI''s method is the most suitable.
