A prospective study of the first 108 first shaft tibial fractures treated in our Service byfunctional casts are reported. 92% of the cases consolidated without anatorno-functionalsequels, the other 8% with sorne srnall problerns.The rnethod is considered very useful in order to lessen the arnount of the cornrnon earlylost of reduction (18'5%).
