Estudio comparativo del tratamiento de las fracturas del macizo trocantéreo con clavo-placa de Mc Laughlin y enclavijado endomedular de Ender

The authors make a comparative study of 130 trochanteric fractures of the femur, 80of them were treated with Mc Laughlin's nail-plata and 50 by nailing, Ender's method.The advantages and disadvantages, mechanic as well as clinical, of each method areanalysed. The general local complications, mortality and clinical and radiological resultsbring to the conclusion that Ender's method is the best for old people with ostheoporoticbone and the nail-plate method of Mc Laughlin is more suitable for young patients inwhich a rigid internal fixatión can be achíeved.
