Resumen (ES)

The abdominal aortae of the rat ("Wister") whose intraluminal diametre was alwaysuoder 1 mm, has been used for this experimental work, in five series of ten rats each, theanímals being sacrified at 6 hrs., 24 hrs., 7 days, 14 days and 28 days, respectively, after surgícal anastomoses. The anastomoses specimen was histologically studied underoptical, electron and Scanning microscopy. The surgical technique details of the artery microanastomoses are described, as well asthe specimen processing and the histological technique. The causes for the necrosis of the middle layer of the artery were: too many and excesivelytíght stitches. The subintimal hyperplasia does not appear until 7 days after arterial section for thehealing of the middle layer; the repairing of the elastíc Iaminae is completed four weeksafter operation. The new endothelial cells appear two weeks before. In the first 24 hoursthere are obly fibrinoids, platelets and leucocites. The histological findings show that the reendothelialization of the intimae layerbegings on the seventh day and is completed along the following week; the origin of thenew endothelial cells is the neighbour undamaged endothelial cells.
