Resumen (ES)

The authors report their experience on 257 cases os cervical spine dislocation-fracturestreated along the last 7 1/2 years (1977-83), 60 of them being operated (23'4%).The mechanism and frequency of the neurological complications (spinal cord androots) gives way to its own physiopathology and treatment possibilities. The stability or non-stability of this injuries is the main feature in order to perform asurgical fixation. In the author's experience the atloaxoidea arthrodesis is the best method for injuries atthis level and the posterior arthrodesis following Roger's technique for unstable dislocations-fractures L3/L7.The anterolateral approach is used for someother unstable fractures of the cervical spíne,using the inter-somathic arthrodesis according Robinson's technique or internal fixationwith screwed double T plate (Senegas procedure). .The results obtained on the 60 operated cases are collected.
