36 cases of Idiopathic Scoliosis selected from the first serie of 50 cases operated until1982 are reported.21 cases were operated following Harrington's instrumental correction and 15 caseswith the Cotrel's modification to this technique. The later showed better results: greaterangular correction, less loss of postoperatory correction and a shorter immobilization.The best age for operation, the fusion limits and the spine fusion technique are considered,as well as the possible neurological complications.
