Resumen (ES)
A biostatistic study on 227 idiopathic scoliosis of the adolescent frorn a cornrnunitywas rnade, reffering the statistic signification of sorne clinical facts. The conclusions ofthis biostatistic study were: - The proportion is of 4 females to 1 male. The scoliosis curve in the male adolescentis more severe than that of the female, in torsion as well as incurvation.- The lumbar curves are more frequent in females (34'6%) than in males (17'8%). Thethoracic curves are more common in males (37'8%) than in females (23%).- The scoliotic men have more severe curves and seek earlv for c1inical advise.- There is a statistic signification between the cune degree and the onset age, but thereis no difference between the onset age in both sexes.- There is no statistic signification in the adolescence between the curve type and theonset age.- The short difference between the onset age and diagnosis age keeps a relationshipwith the severitv of the cune.- AII lumber curves ask for advise later.- Torsion and incurvation are the two components of the scoliotic deformity with themost high statistic interrelationship.- The lumber curves are the most moderate curves (22'9 0 average). However, thorariccurves are the most severe (41 '51 o average).- The menarche age has no statistic signification about the curve characteristics.- The presence of radiographical spinae bifidae at the onset age of sacoliosis has nostatistic signification.
