The results obtained in the sagittal plane in patients with idiopathic scoliosis treated by Milwaukee brace are presented. A series of 51 patients (44 females, 7 males) with average of 13 years, were included in the study. Using the King and More''s classification, 18 patients had type I curves,16 type II, 12 type III, 1 type IV and 2 patients showed tipe V curves. Two had lumbar curves. The mean follow-up was 5 years. In 45 patients (88%) the thoracic Kyphosis showed a decrease of 10° in average angular value (32% of initial value). 44 patients (86%) showed loss of lumbar lordosis, passing from an initial average value of 59° to 49° of final average value (16%). Age, type of the curve, Risser and bending test were not related with the evolution of curvatures in thesagittal plane.
