50 patíentswith Dupuytren's Disease(76 affected hands) are reported. The authors studied personal history and the association to certain iIInesses (alcoholism, epiIepsy,diabetes, etc.). Tissue specimens taken during surgery of 12 of the hands were studied under optic and electronic microscope respectively, showing stenosans microangiopathy. Theauthors believe that the secondary hypoxia stimulate the colagen production and subsequent fibrosis.
