Rotura del ligamento deltoideo del tobillo. Evaluación clínico-quirúrgica.

Uniform criteria about the actions to be taken in the tearing of the ankle deltoid ligament do not exist. Thirty six patients diagnosed and surgically treated because of the tearing of the above mentioned ligament have been reviewed .Most of the times, this lesion was accompanied by a  fracture of the peroneal maleolus. Etiology, injury mechanisms and results following Cedell' s clasificationhave been evaluated and the results have been considere good  inpractically all cases. In four patients, the only secuela was alimitation of the most extreme grades of  flexo-extension.
