The authors review a series of children and adolescent with valgus flatfoot whichwere operated on our Hospital from 1987 to 1992. The operation consisted of the placementof a subtalar prosthesis according to Gianini's technique wich was employed in 73 cases, onan average 11 year-old children and a follow up of 3 year average. The evaluation of the resultswas done according to the anatomic correction, radiologic correction and the foot mobility,and were classified in: excellent (the tree parameters were standarizated), good (important improvementof them), and poor (only one parameter was improved). The results was: excellent34%, good 64%, poor 4%.
