Resumen (ES)

We presented a case a polyethylene wearing in a
cemented total knee arthroplasty without signs of failure in a
84 year old woman with osteoarthritis of the left knee underwent
with a total knee arthroplasty fourteen years ago. The
patient was getting worse clinically and returns to our center
by pain and instability. In the x-ray signs of an important wearing
of polyethylene without failure of the metallic components.
The implanted model does not make in the present time
and the carving of a polyethylene subject of gossip is decided
so that it adapts to the tibial tray to which it is cemented. At
two years of the surgery the patient is asintomatic, with good
functionality and no radiological signs of femoral or tibial loosening
components. We think that it is the first described case
of this solution for a problem that can appear more and more
frecuently during the surgeon activity.
