Resumen (ES)

The fractures of the distal phalanx that determinate
the common deformity called mallet finger are specially
interesting in children for several reasons. One of most important
is the difficulty of diagnosis in young children because
the epiphisis ossification has not started yet, and by the other
side the potential risk of complications and sequelae, because
they are an articular or periarticular fractures and in many
times are an opened fractures in different grade. We describe
seven cases treated in our service in the last five years,
analysing the type of fracture, the treatment, the functional
results and complications obtained.
